When you feel like something sweet for dinner, this interesting take on a pizza fits the bill. Plus, the entire recipe can be made on the grill, if you want to take advantage of our warm weather!

Recipe Ingredients:

3 medium pears, core and stem removed, sliced into ½ inch-thick slices
4 large (6″ x 2-1/2″ x 1-3/4″ or about 3 oz) slices French bread
1 cup blue cheese crumbles
¼ cup chopped pecans
4 tbsp strawberry preserves
1 ½ tbsp water

Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Wipe grill lightly with vegetable oil and preheat.

3. Place pears on grill and cook approximately 3 to 4 minutes on each side.

4. Remove from heat.

5. While pears are grilling, toast pecans in oven, being careful not to burn them.

6. After removing pears, distribute pear slices evenly on top of bread.

7. Sprinkle ¼ cup blue cheese crumbles and 1 tbsp pecans over each slice.

8. Place bread on grill, cover, and heat 2 to 3 minutes.

9. Place preserves in a small dish. Whisk in water until smooth (Microwave for 5-10 seconds if needed).

10. Remove bread from grill and drizzle ¼ of preserves-water mixture over each slice.

(Note: Entire recipe can be done on grill if a basket is used to grill pecans.)
